The story of the Adidas Samba dates back to 1949. In the present day, the silhouette is no longer a football boot relegated to performing on icy surfaces. Instead, it's become the sneaker of choice for countless fashionable folks across the globe. And yet, different iterations of design harken back to its sports origins.

Ahead of summer, Adidas Originals has unveiled the Samba JP in an "Off White/Wonder Beige/Core Black" color scheme. Inspired by performance versions of the past, the silhouette features original tooling coupled with a number of changes to the upper.

A high-quality leather and suede construction takes over the top-half, which looks to archival design elements to breathe new life into the decades-old sneaker. A quilted toe cap falls in line with football boots like the Copa Mundial, injecting an overt touch of heritage into the offering. Profile 3-Stripes take on a scale-like finish, drawing inspiration from animals. The longer tongue and included heel counter also differentiate the JP-edition of the model from what's commonly worn in major cities across the globe. The aforementioned understated color scheme allows for each element to make a statement.

Enjoy official photos of the "Wonder Beige"-accented Samba below. Pairs are expected to hit Adidas.com before fall arrives for around $115.
