Ahead of the 2026 World Cup™, Norway's captain, Martin Ødegaard, has made the switch to adidas Predator from Nike Mercurial.
Known for orchestrating his teams from the midfield, Ødegaard will now control the flow of the game wearing the Three Stripes' iconic franchise.
The move comes as no surprise to those who've been keeping an eye on the Arsenal star, as he's been wearing pairs of the Predator 26 in training. Promotional material accompanying the announcement see the 27-year-old holding pairs of the "Ice Cold Precision" adidas Predator, one of a thematic collection inspiring players to tap into the mentality needed to attack the pitch.
Given that Nike's Mercurial line is synonymous with some of football's fastest athletes, Ødegaard's game never quite aligned with its ethos. The Norwegian international, however, has a natural connection to adidas Predator history—be it playmakers like David Beckham or Zinedine Zidane.
