Messi's "Lucid Red" adidas F50 Collection Is Here

UPDATE 10/10/2026: adidas has released the Lionel Messi F50 “Futbol y Familia,” a new colorway inspired by his Argentinian roots and early years with Newell’s Old Boys. The pair is available now through adidas & select retailers, continuing the brand’s run of releases celebrating different chapters of Messi’s career.

Original Story: Lionel Messi might have announced retirement from playing for Argentina on the international stage, but the 39-year-old remains a formidable force in the world of football. As such, adidas Football has put together another special-edition F50 boots release for the Argentine, employing a "Lucid Red" color scheme in the process.

The newly-surfaced style follows the same designed introduced on the "El Último Tango" F50 that Messi wore in his sixth and final World Cup™ tournament during Summer 2026—an adidas F50 that takes cues from boots of the mid-2000s. What differs, however, is that the latest pair abandons the light blue commemorating Argentina or South Florida-friendly colors inspired by Inter Miami seen on many of Messi's special-edition footwear over the last few years. Instead, the recent drop opts for ruby-colored flair.

Nevertheless, the "Lucid Red" Messi F50 includes the same speed-oriented innovation seen on the pair built for his "Last Dance":

• HYBRIDTOUCH+ upper, lightweight, premium & soft-feeling synthetic material. Features the iconic lace cover seen on the F50.6 TUNIT, which increases striking surface.
• HALOCAGE+ TPU skin, a coating on the upper "responds sensitively to changes in direction, supporting dynamic movements and fast footwork," according to adidas.
• F50 SPEEDSYSTEM+, ultra lightweight, full-length LX Plate with bladed type studs tuned for fast cuts; the coring of the tooling delivers stiffness.
• LIGHTSTRIKE PRO sockliner, seen on award-winning running shoes; provides lightweight cushioning and energy return when engaged.
