March 13 is a date of celebration in Detroit. Inspired by the city's area code, the unofficial 313 Day honors the local spirit with community gatherings centered around food, art, music, and culture.
This year, as has become customary over the last several occasions, SNIPES and adidas Originals will join in on the celebration with product launches and festivities open to the public.
The two long-time partners have put together a special edition of the Top Ten, a silhouette that debuted in 1979 and found a home in Detroit. The high-top draws inspiration from the destination's "Motor City" moniker, opting for a black, silver, and grey color scheme that references its automotive legacy. Direct nods to Detroit and 313 Day appears across the project, which is infused with the no-nonsense attitude of the city and its residents.
The commemorative adidas Top Ten will launch exclusively in-store at SNIPES locations in Detroit.
In addition to launching a 313 Day sneaker, the partnership will host "From the Streets" at the Detroit Garden Theater on Friday, March 13. The venue will be transformed to offer a car meet-inspired nightlife experience complete with live music, curated bar, and elevated product. Detroit's very own Skilla Baby will headline the event.
The event is completely free; anyone interested in attending can RSVP via the SNIPES Reserve app. Additionally, those who purchase a pair of the "313 Day" Top Ten will receive a free gift and VIP entry to the "From the Streets" event.
