Wales Bonner & adidas Y-3 Present The Field Lizzard Ahead of the World Cup™
In its Spring/Summer 2026 show during June 2025 Paris Fashion Week®︎, Wales Bonner unveiled a number of collaborative products made with adidas Y-3. Amongst them, a never-before-seen take on the Y-3 Field, a football boot-inspired silhouette from Yohji Yamamoto. First launched in 2003, the model is back as The Field Lizzard.
Wales Bonner has been known to experiment through its adidas Originals partnership and The Field Lizzard is just the latest example. During the aforementioned show, Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly modeled the thin-soled shoe. Unlike the viral adidas F50 AdiFrame, the impending release applies an elevated dress shoe aesthetic to the Three Stripes' storied football boot heritage instead of simply covering studs with a plastic frame. This decision results in a footwear proposal that's obviously inspired by sport, but easily at-home in fashion-forward circles.
Although Yamamoto and company have utilized premium leather for their Y-3 Field design, the Wales Bonner linkup brings textured, reptile-reminiscent finishes to the low-profile shoe. It's likely that the variety of leather treatments seen on the collaborative effort are what inspired the "Field Lizzard" name.
At least two color schemes were previewed during last year's Paris Fashion Week®︎, with both donning a "Dark Brown" leather base.
Stay tuned for firm adidas.com release details of the thin-soled shoe. Pairs are expected to land before the 2026 World Cup™ kicks off (June 11).
