Andre Drummond is the NBA's latest athlete with his own signature shoe.
The 14-year veteran, currently with the Philadelphia 76ers, recently announced a deal with Stria Sport. Beyond simply signing a footwear contract, however, Drummond has become an owner in and creative director for the Chicago-founded company. Stria Sport is the official footwear partner of the Harlem Globetrotters for their 100th Anniversary season and has been co-signed by more than one hundred professional hoopers across the globe since launching in 2021.
"This is more than a sneaker. It’s ownership. It’s evolution," shared Drummond in an Instagram post announcing his partnership with Stria Sport.
Much about the deal and NBA player's first signature silhouette is still under wraps, but it's possible Drummond will follow a Kyrie Irving x ANTA blueprint by having a performance model and lifestyle line. In any case, the world will be watching as Drummond's path could inspire other athletes to follow non-traditional paths to signature product.
In other footwear news, the Nike Air Max line continues to grow.
