Despite an early end to his 2024-25 NBA season, Kyrie Irving will commemorate his Dallas Mavericks family with a special edition of his ANTA KAI 2 signature sneaker.
Aptly-dubbed the "Dallas" pair, the latest iteration of Irving's basketball silhouette features a blue-and-white color scheme derived from the franchise's Home uniforms. A series of yellow accents appear throughout the sneaker, subtly nodding to the game's "golden era" of the 1990s. In many ways, the energy from this period in history still pulses throughout Irving's current home city.
Akin to "Artist on Court" and "Solar Return" ensembles, the impending KAI 2 keeps its bells-and-whistles intact. Elements inspired by the NBA guard's ideologies, interests, Native American ancestry appear on the "Dallas" edition.
A blue gradient animates the midsole underfoot, nodding to the Maverick-blue blood that Irving now represents. The insole also features one of the Texas city's most recognizable gems on the insole—Thanksgiving Square—bringing a touch of heritage to the high-performance basketball shoe by ANTA.
