Germany's Bayern Munich and France's Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have consistently proven themselves as two of Europe's most-special sides. Today, leaders of their respective leagues will face each other for the 17th time in an official competition as part of the 2026 Champions League Semi-Finals. The first leg will be played at the Parc des Princes in Paris, which should give the tournament's defending champions an advantage, but Bayern is actually favored by history.
According to official records kept by UEFA, the Munich-based football club has two more victories over PSG than its French rivals do. The official match record between Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain, then, is 9-7 in favor of the German powerhouse.
Despite having won the Champions League more recently than its Semi-Finals opponent, PSG has lost five of the last six meetings against the German side. Bayern showed some mortality in the face of Arsenal during the group stage, but Vincent Kompany's side has been in top-form since. Luis Enrique's men have also showcased that their trophy-lifting in 2025 wasn't a fluke. Both sides are coming into the Semi-Finals as favorites to win it all against either Arsenal or Atlético Madrid, which start their Semi-Final bout tomorrow, April 29.
There's no telling what will happen over the next two fixtures between PSG and Bayern, but what's virtually guaranteed is that Michael Olise, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Harry Kane, Nuno Mendes, and their respective teammates will put on a show for the ages as there's yet to be a draw between both clubs.
