Air Jordan 40 "Bordeaux" Drops Dec. 1

Over the course of its 40-year history, Jordan Brand has revisited several hues and color schemes across different products, building strong through-lines in the process. Its latest Air Jordan 40 harkens back to 1992 with a "Bordeaux" makeover.

Officially clad in a "Bordeaux/University Red/Burgundy Crush" color scheme, the newly-surfaced basketball sneaker shares its titular tone with one of the original Air Jordan 7 offerings. The modern Air Jordan, however, makes the wine-reminiscent color the main attraction, covering the bulk of its high-quality upper in the color. Tongues, inner lining, and ZoomX foam-assisted sole units slightly deviate in a "Burgundy Crush" finish, but the wine-like aesthetic persists throughout these elements. The result is a premium product rooted in Michael Jordan's decades-spanning legacy.
