Air Jordan 5 “Laney” Returns May 15, 2027
The Air Jordan 5 “Laney” is expected to make another comeback in 2027, bringing one of the silhouette’s best-known non-original colorways back into rotation.
Inspired by Michael Jordan’s time at Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina, the colorway first released in 2000. Its white leather upper is paired with royal blue and yellow accents, pulling directly from Laney’s school colors while keeping the Air Jordan 5’s signature mesh panels, molded eyelets and shark-tooth detailing intact.

The “Laney” Air Jordan 5 last returned in 2013, meaning its upcoming release will arrive nearly 14 years after its previous retro. For 2027, the pair is expected to stay close to the familiar look, including Jumpman branding on the heels rather than Nike Air.
The Air Jordan 5 “Laney” is currently expected to release on May 15, 2027, with full-family sizing planned. Pricing and additional release details have yet to be confirmed.
