Jordan Brand has a tendency of being self-referential. Over the years, the eponymous imprint has paid homage to some of its most iconic designs via new silhouettes, introducing heritage to modern generations. Its Hydro 11 set of slides is the latest example, nodding to the iconic Air Jordan 11 "Bred" from 1996.
Developed for recovery and leisure, the Jordan Hydro has previously commemorated other popular looks from His Airness' signature sneaker series. The Air Jordan 5 "Grape" lent the slip-on model's its beloved "White/New Emerald/Grape Ice/Black" color scheme earlier in the year. The impending style borrows the Chicago Bulls-appropriate seen on Tinker Hatfield's patent leather-donning design from decades ago.
The raised footbed opts for "True Red" flair, just as the Jumpman logo on the lockdown strap's lateral side. A glossy finish appears across the sole unit, while the aforementioned fastening component favors a matte look. The same 23 numerals found on the AJ11's spine show up dead in the center of the forefoot strap.
