Things have looked promising for the Los Angeles Lakers since the arrival of Luka Dončić in early February. The Western Conference squad has climbed and fallen in the rankings over the last few months, but they're firmly positioned in third place at the moment. Last night, the Slovenian superstar visited Dallas to face off his former NBA family. The game was full of emotion for #77 and the home crowed, but the newer Laker channeled said emotion to drop 45 points on the Mavericks. To commemorate the occasion, Jordan Brand dropped an intense trailer for the fictional film, The Trial of Luka Dončić.
Since entering the League, the former Real Madrid athlete has been showcasing just how ruthless he can be on-court. He's averaged 28.6 points per game across seven seasons so far, which includes a 73-point performance.
There are a lot of great players in the NBA, but Dončić is what folks calls a "bad, bad man." Jordan Brand has taken this concept and built a fictional film around it that lives at the badluka.com address.
"How could a man so bad... have shoes that nice?" reads the movie's tagline. Much of Dončić's ruthlessness in the NBA has been accompanied by a pair of Jumpman-branded footwear. His most recent terror over the Dallas Mavericks came in the Jordan Luka 4 "Flash Crimson" basketball shoe. The pair featured in the minute-long trailer (and accompanying poster) is dubbed "Space Invader," and introduced the world to Jordan Brand's fourth signature sneaker design for the Slovenian athlete (available now via Nike.com/Jordan).
Both styles feature top-of-the-line technology fine-tuned for Dončić's game. Its predecessor might've been short-lived, but the Luka 4 is revving up to be one of the current Laker's most important silhouettes. The budget-friendly Jordan Luka .77 features some of the performance findings from the larger Jordan Luka line, but repackages it specifically for outdoor play.
It's very likely that Luka Dončić puts on more high-scoring performances throughout the remainder of the 2024-25 NBA season and following Playoffs run, so he's expected to remain on trial for the time being. According to Jordan Brand, the full film examining the All-Star's crimes will drop soon.
In the meantime, shop all things Dončić via Nike.com/Luka, including the Luka 4 and #77 Lakers jersey.
