Nigel Sylvester, the first BMX athlete signed by Jordan Brand, has demonstrated a knack for storytelling across his collaborations, which date back to 2009. Come Summer 2027, the New York City-native is expected to add a blue-and-white-colored Air Jordan 6 "Paperboy" retro to his resume.

According to the duo of X user @zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files, Sylvester's next marquee Air Jordan collab draws inspiration from the 1985 video game title Paperboy, which was developed and published by Atari Games. The game allowed players to take on the role of a paperboy who delivers a newspaper to houses in the neighborhood while riding his bicycle.

Sylvester was born two years after the launch of the original Paperboy arcade game, but he might've still encountered it as a kid growing up in Queens. He could've also had more experience with Paperboy 2, a computer and console-exclusive sequel released in 1991.

Although much about the Nigel Sylvester "Paperboy" Jordan 6 is still under wraps at the time of writing, it's expected that the limited-edition retro feature a predominantly blue upper. White-colored contrast should land across the sole unit, Jumpman logos, and the mini Swoosh expected to land on the lateral forefoot, as it has on many sneaker projects by Sylvester.

This blue-and-white color scheme is reportedly rooted in the apparel worn by Paperboy's main character, as well as the rich blue seen on the covers of both the original title and its sequel.

As with other collabs by the BMX rider, the "Paperboy" AJ6 should include "Bike Air" branding on the spine and insole. Packaging for the retro should also be customized by Sylvester in order to tell his story. A real-life Paperboy route could appear in NYC as well to further connect the modern Air Jordan product and retro video game.
