New Balance 993 “Triple Black” Brings a Cleaner Kind of Stealth
Triple-black sneakers usually come with a certain reputation. The Nike Air Force 1 has long carried its “up to no good” mythology, while the Reebok Classic Leather has spent decades as another all-black staple with a slightly ominous edge. But the New Balance 993 “Triple Black” doesn’t quite land in the same lane. Instead, it takes the stealth uniform and turns it into something far more refined.
Expected to arrive before Fall 2026 commences, the New Balance 993 “Triple Black” keeps things simple across one of the brand’s most respected Made in USA silhouettes. The upper is dressed almost entirely in black, combining soft suede overlays with dark mesh underlays for a tonal build that still allows the model’s layered construction to show through.
Rather than relying on contrast, the pair works through material shifts. The suede panels wrap the toe, midfoot, and heel in classic 993 fashion, while the mesh windows add texture without breaking the all-black look. Even the “N” logo, laces, tongue branding, and heel embroidery stay within the same muted palette, giving the shoe a quieter, more mature feel.

Underfoot, the same approach continues. The sculpted midsole arrives in black and charcoal tones, housing the model’s ABZORB DTS cushioning system, while the outsole keeps the look grounded with a fully dark finish. It is the kind of pair that feels easy to wear but still carries the elevated Made in USA feel that has kept the 993 relevant for years.
The New Balance 993 “Triple Black” is expected to release before Fall 2026 via NewBalance.com and select retailers. Further release details should follow soon.
