Salehe Bembury Goes "Green" with His Debut New Balance 992 Collab

Salehe Bembury is looking to start 2026 on the right foot, prepping a special New Balance 992 as one of his first—if not the first—projects of the year.

Having launched a number of collaborations throughout 2025, the New York City-native remained busy throughout the entirety of the year. Much attention will be paid to SPUNGE moving forward, but Bembury still seems committed to his widely-successful partnerships with New Balance, Crocs, and PUMA.

In October, the Los Angeles-transplant and Rizzoli organized and published a book titled Salehe Bembury: I Make Shoes. The monograph chronicles the dozens of footwear projects the designer has worked on over the last 15 years. In it, photos of unreleased New Balances sparked curiosity from savvy readers. One of the pairs—a green-clad New Balance 992—has appeared on at least one online "Release Calendar," confirming a launch. The pair favors a hairy suede build across the upper, which sits atop a nature-inspired sole unit. Hits of blue and yellow join the mix, likely nodding to a body of water and the sun.
