Nike’s Kobe Bryant storytelling continues this summer with a new Dunk Low tied to one of the most important moments in his basketball journey: the 1996 NBA Draft.
Official images of the Nike Dunk Low “Draft Day” have now surfaced, confirming the pair will release on June 26 alongside the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Draft Day” Mystery Pack and a matching mystery T-shirt pack. The rollout gives Nike a wider platform to revisit the night Kobe Bryant entered the NBA as the 13th overall pick, before his draft rights were famously traded from Charlotte to Los Angeles.
The Nike Dunk Low “Draft Day” leans directly into that Charlotte connection. The pair arrives in a mix of Fierce Purple, Blue Lagoon, and Sail, with a white leather base giving way to glossy purple overlays and bright teal accents across the Swoosh, laces, heel tab, and outsole. The color scheme is an unmistakable nod to the franchise that first selected Kobe, while still feeling closely tied to the visual language Nike has built around his legacy.

Details across the shoe keep the story moving. Kobe’s sheath logo appears on the tongue and insole, while “KOBE” branding lands across the heel in multicolor embroidery. The teal Swoosh features a textured, scale-like finish trimmed with gold, adding a subtle Black Mamba reference without overwhelming the design. Purple snakeskin-style overlays further push that theme, giving the Dunk a more premium, narrative-driven feel than a standard colorway.
Underfoot, the pair is finished with a Sail midsole and purple rubber outsole, keeping the palette tight while allowing the teal and gold details to stand out. The result is a Dunk Low that feels less like a simple tribute colorway and more like a specific chapter in Kobe Bryant’s story.
The Nike Dunk Low “Draft Day” is expected to release on June 26 alongside the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Draft Day” Mystery Pack and matching mystery T-shirt pack. Expect pairs to be available through Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
