Nike Basketball's Air Flightposite 3 to Bounce Back Into Stores Spring 2027
The Air Jordan line isn't the only Nike, Inc. franchise to work within the retro space. For years, the Nike Basketball team has revisited some of its most-beloved designs, reissuing them for the modern day. Come Spring 2027, the cohort is expected to breathe new life into the Air Flightposite 3.
First launched in the early 2000s, the silhouette was famously made for Kevin Garnett, though he never wore it. As its name suggests, the model was the third installment in the Nike Air Flightposite series, a performance line spearheaded by Eric Avar that debuted in 1999. The original Flightposite, like its successors, was rooted in the design principles of the brand's Alpha Project, which sought to produce high-performing product through an innovative, avant-garde design lens. Word on the III's return (by the duo of Sneaker Files and X user @zSneakerHeadz) follows rumors of UNDEFEATED releasing an Air Tuned Max in 2027, another Alpha Project creation.

Although the Flightposite 3 was built atop heritage laid out by some of Avar's previous work, it abandoned the sleek construction of the original Flightposite. Instead, the shoe was rather maximalist, donning bulbous lenticular panels on the profiles, connected to two lockdown straps. The design was futuristic and performed well on-court, becoming a go-to option for numerous NCAA teams.
Stay tuned for more details. Different original color options should begin making their way to Nike.com by March 2027.
