Nike Foamposite's 30th Anniversary Includes "Obsidian" Release

Another day, another Nike Air Foamposite One release rumored to join the ever-growing 30th anniversary celebration.

According to the duo of X user @zSneakerHeadz and Romania's Sneaker Market, the innovative Nike Basketball shoe from 1997 is launching in an "Obsidian" pair during the Summer 2027 season. The newly-rumored pair features an "Obsidian/Black/Metallic Gold Grain" color scheme and seems to form part of a Women's-exclusive capsule inspired by gemstones. The aforementioned duo has also posited that "Ruby" Foams will release in the first-half of 2027.

In comparison to its ruby-colored counterpart, "Obsidian" Foams aren't expected to include printed molded uppers. Instead, the dark-colored pair should simply see its beetle-inspired, molded upper done in a glossy finish that recreates the shimmer on volcanic glass. This lack of graphics should make the "Obsidian" style much more versatile among men who can fit Nike's Women's sizing.

Thus far, the Foamposite's 30th anniversary festivities are set to consist of pairs like a Nike SB Foamposite "Team Red" and "Pink Gradient" Foamposite One.
