Throughout its 42-year history, the Nike Air Force 1 Low has lived many lives. Far removed from its origins as a performance basketball shoe, the last few decades have seen it become the go-to sneaker for the fashion-forward. Throughout the 2010s, it helped popularize Flyknit technology.
Developed for performance, the knit construction soon found a home amongst a number of popular Nike Sportswear offerings, and even landed on some Air Jordan retros. Its appearance on Bruce Kilgore's "presidential" model was widely-lauded for its refreshing fit and look. The Flyknit presentation allowed for the Swoosh to offer a number of compelling finishes on the shoe, despite employing previously-seen color schemes. A "Black/White/Pure Platinum" ensemble, for example, reads rather straightforward on paper, but its knit finish inspired an "Oreo" moniker given its curious lines and perforations. A "colorless" sole unit and pitch-dark accents around the collar round out the pair first seen in 2019.
