Nike Is Bringing Back the Air Force 1’s Beloved 2001 Shape
Nike is looking back to one of the Air Force 1’s most beloved eras, with the classic triple-white Air Force 1 Low expected to return in the fan-favorite 2001 shape.
For casual wearers, the changes may not jump off the page immediately. But for longtime Air Force 1 collectors, the 2001 build holds a special place. Its proportions, shape, and overall stance are often viewed as one of the cleanest executions of the model, and Nike has already hinted at its return through recent projects like the NIGO collaboration.
Now, the move appears to be heading toward inline releases, beginning with the most obvious place possible: the all-white Uptown. First-look images show the familiar white-on-white leather build, complete with tonal Swooshes, matching laces, white midsoles, and white outsoles. The difference is in the shape, with the pair expected to carry a sharper, more faithful early-2000s look compared to standard modern AF1 releases.
It is a subtle shift, but an important one. The triple-white Air Force 1 is one of Nike’s most recognizable sneakers ever, and bringing it back in a more collector-approved form should speak directly to those who have been asking for better AF1 proportions for years.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low ’01 “Triple White” is expected to release in Summer 2026 for $150. More details should follow as Nike prepares the rollout.
