You Can Say "I Do" in Nike's "Black Patent" Air Force 1 Low

Since 1983, Bruce Kilgore's Nike Air Force 1 Low design has taken on a plethora of makeovers. While some have been simple, tonal color executions, others have been explorations in manufacturing technologies. The model's latest ensemble falls in line with the former, though its patent leather finish is sure to win over audiences that would otherwise overlook its all-"Black" finish.

While far from the first time the Swoosh conglomerate has utilized glossy leather on its "presidential" silhouette, its latest offering is ready to go viral across social media. Memes about the "Black" Air Force 1 and the nefarious activities with which the shoe is associated are mainstays within the sneaker-sphere. A patent leather version, then, should fuel further jest online considering all the angles made available by the update—including tuxedo-ready shoes.

The latest AF-1 keeps all of its design details and performance-informed elements intact, but the upper gets a shiny finish that refreshes the decades-old design.
