Nike Golf continues to borrow from the rest of the Swoosh conglomerate, bringing modifications for the green to handfuls of iconic silhouettes from running and basketball categories. Ahead of summer, the 18-hole-obsessed division has unveiled another spike-less Air Max 1 '86 golf shoe.

In comparison to other offerings, the newly-surfaced style doesn't indulge in an original color scheme from the revolutionary sneaker's inaugural run. Instead, it favors the "White/Black/Purple Punch" ensemble that formed part of the Air Huarache's initial lineup. Both footwear designs were developed by Tinker Hatfield between 1986 and 1991, and have previously commemorated one another through special drops from Nike Sportswear. The last time the pioneering Air Max rocked the regal look was in 2020.

Nike Golf's iteration of Hatfield's beloved design stays faithful to the blueprint. Each panel reprises its running-informed role, with the titular purple animating inner lining and accents surrounding the back-half of the shoe. Underfoot, the Big Bubble delivers responsive cushioning, while the outsole features a different setup to perform well on green golf courses.

Firm Nike.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but that's expected to change by the end of summer. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the "Purple Punch"-accented Air Max 1 '86 G below.
