Nike’s ballet-inspired reinterpretation of the Air Rift made an unexpected impact last year, transforming the cult-classic 1996 silhouette into one of the brand’s more fashion-forward lifestyle offerings. Following the success of the initial black pair, Nike now expands the concept with the Nike Air Rift Ballet "Light Soft Pink," a softer take on the hybrid design arriving in Spring 2026.

Originally introduced nearly three decades ago, the Nike Air Rift has always stood apart from traditional sneakers thanks to its split-toe construction and strap-based fit system. While the model has resurfaced periodically over the years, its ballet-inspired rework introduces a new dimension that aligns with the ongoing balletcore trend seen across fashion and sportswear.

The Nike Air Rift Ballet "Light Soft Pink" leans fully into that aesthetic. The upper arrives in satin-like fabric finished in a delicate pink tone, giving the silhouette a distinctly soft appearance. The familiar midfoot strap remains intact, but the standout update comes from the ribbon-style lacing system that wraps around the ankle.

These extended ribbons allow wearers to tie the shoe in multiple ways — either looping them around the ankle like ballet flats or tying them into a bow at the back for a more dramatic finish. The adjustable detail adds both styling flexibility and a clear nod to traditional dance footwear.

Underfoot, the design stays true to the original Rift tooling, featuring its signature sculpted midsole and split-toe outsole that defined the model when it first debuted in 1996. The Nike Air Rift Ballet "Light Soft Pink" is expected to release in Spring 2026 via Nike.com and select retailers.
