With the World Cup now drawing global attention to North America, Nike is also using the summer spotlight to revisit another major sporting moment in U.S. history. The Nike Air Trainer SC “Atlanta Olympics” is returning on June 1, arriving as a 30th-anniversary follow-up to the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
The release builds on Nike’s earlier 2016 Air Trainer SC “Atlanta Olympics,” which celebrated 20 years since the Games with peach embroidery, patriotic detailing, and a limited run of 1,996 pairs. A decade later, the concept returns with a more refined palette, swapping the brighter tones of the previous pair for a richer wine-purple finish across the upper.
This latest Nike Air Trainer SC “Atlanta Olympics” keeps the same celebratory spirit, but the execution feels slightly more polished. Purple suede overlays sit against quilted white textile panels, with metallic gold hardware and branding bringing a podium-ready finish to the eyelets, tongue, and heel details. The tongue embroidery again nods to Atlanta, with one shoe featuring a peach graphic while the other carries bold Nike script in gold.
Elsewhere, the shoe adds more anniversary-minded detailing. Subtle gold stitching runs through the side panels, while translucent outsoles reveal soft hits of color underneath. The insoles carry a red, white, and blue split design, complete with a “96” wreath graphic that ties the pair directly back to the Games.
The Nike Air Trainer SC “Atlanta Olympics” is expected to release on June 1 via Nike.com and select retailers. Further sizing and pricing details should be confirmed soon.
