Nike Basketball is introducing a new foundation for its performance footwear, organizing the lineup around three distinct builds: Flight, Force and Uptempo.
Rather than separating shoes by traditional positions, Nike says the new system is based on how players move. Flight is designed for explosive lift and impact protection, Force focuses on power, stability and containment, while Uptempo is built around speed, court feel and responsiveness.
The rollout has already started on court. AJ Dybantsa was the first to debut the new G.T. Flight, followed by Awa Fam in the G.T. Force Low, while Tyran Stokes shared closer looks at both the Flight and Force around the same time. Dylan Harper later debuted the G.T. Uptempo, completing the first look at Nike’s new three-shoe lineup.

At the top of each category sits a new G.T. model: the G.T. Flight, G.T. Force and G.T. Uptempo.
The G.T. Flight combines full-length Zoom Strobel cushioning with Cushlon 3.0 foam, while the G.T. Force uses ZoomX 3.0 foam with a more supportive build and will be offered in both high- and low-top versions. The G.T. Uptempo sits lower to the ground, pairing ZoomX 3.0 with Air Zoom cushioning for a quicker, more responsive feel.
Nike’s signature athletes will also fall within the same framework. LeBron James and Ja Morant align with Flight, A’ja Wilson and Giannis Antetokounmpo with Force, and Devin Booker, Caitlin Clark, Kevin Durant and Sabrina Ionescu with Uptempo.
The move also brings three familiar names from Nike Basketball history into a new era, giving Flight, Force and Uptempo updated performance meanings for today’s game.
The Nike G.T. Flight, G.T. Force and G.T. Uptempo launch in North America on February 11, 2027, through Nike and select retailers, with a global release to follow.
