The Nike Field General from 1982 hasn't received the mainstream attention the brand hoped for when it decided to unearth it from out of the archives, but it's recently appeared in a makeover sure to pique fashionable women's interest.
Officially clad in a "Black/Gum Light Brown/Neptune Green/Sesame" color scheme, the low-top sneaker's marquee detail is the leopard print that takes over the profile swooshes and Achilles' heel panel. The remainder of the old school sports model divvies up tones that skew towards the unassuming.
Nike's animal-inspired offering arrives after the success of the Adidas Samba "Leopard" capsule, a Women's-exclusive duo that reimagined a vintage sports trainer through a modern fashion-forward lens. The Field General isn't as wild as the Three Stripes' proposals, but still delivers an edgy aesthetic for those always looking for bold apparel, footwear, and accessories.
A firm Nike.com release date for the leopard-accented Field General hasn't been confirmed by the brand as of yet, but that's likely to change soon. Enjoy official photos of the $100 shoe below while you wait.
