Nike and Ja Morant are officially turning the page with the unveiling of the Ja 3, the Memphis Grizzlies star’s third signature silhouette. Making its on-court debut in the “Max Volume” colorway during Game 1 of the Grizzlies vs. Thunder playoff series, the Ja 3 signals a new era for Morant’s sneaker line—bold, aggressive, and unapologetically different.
The Ja 3 builds on the signature "Scratch" concept that’s been a through-line of Ja’s footwear journey, with this latest design leaning in more than ever. Large exterior TPU overlays cover the upper, featuring jagged, claw-like shaping that suggests force and ferocity. The Swoosh branding is equally assertive, appearing flipped and extended onto the midsole—its boldest placement yet on a Ja signature.
Performance-wise, the Ja 3 features a composite midsole made from full-length ZoomX foam, stacked atop ZoomX scraps, which maximizes energy return and comfort for Morant’s explosive playing style. The upper continues the layered, rugged aesthetic, evoking motion and unpredictability—two hallmarks of Ja’s game.

“I told the Nike design team I needed something that talks before I even lace it up,” said Morant in the official announcement. “I wanted my third signature shoe to feel like my game and my personality… Make it rugged, make it different.”
The Nike Ja 3 “Max Volume” is expected to release in Fall 2025, with more colorways likely to follow as the season approaches.
In other sneaker news from the Swoosh conglomerate, a special edition of "Bred" Air Jordan 1 '85 retro is expected in October.
