Nike Kobe 10 Elite Low "Halo" Drops August 23

More than a decade after its original release, the Nike Kobe 10 is officially entering the Protro era.

Originally introduced in 2015, Kobe Bryant’s 10th signature sneaker became known for its lightweight construction, responsive cushioning, and low-profile court feel. The upcoming Nike Kobe 10 Protro keeps the recognizable design intact while rebuilding its performance package for the modern game.

The biggest update arrives underfoot. Nike has replaced the original Lunarlon and heel Air Zoom setup with Cushlon 3.0 foam and a full-length Zoom Strobel unit. The new configuration is designed to provide more consistent responsiveness, energy return, and court feel across the entire foot.

Up top, the engineered mesh construction has been updated for improved breathability and flexibility. A wider forefoot creates additional room, while strategically placed reinforcements maintain the lockdown and stability needed for quick cuts and rapid changes of direction.

Nike also reworked the outsole using movement data from the Nike Sport Research Lab. While the traction remains rooted in the original Kobe 10’s design principles, the updated pattern is engineered to provide more reliable grip during explosive takeoffs, stops, and lateral movements.

The carbon-fiber forefoot wing returns unchanged, continuing to provide lateral support. Kobe’s hidden “Endure and Conquer” messaging also remains, preserving one of the original model’s signature details.

Nike developed the Kobe 10 Protro through athlete wear testing and feedback, with every update intended to serve a functional purpose rather than simply modernize the sneaker’s appearance.

The Nike Kobe 10 Protro debuts in the annual all-white “Halo” colorway on August 23. Additional engineered-mesh colorways will release throughout 2026, followed by Flyknit editions featuring ZoomX foam in 2027.
