LeBron James continues to etch his name in the history books of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Last night, he became the League's all-time leader in field-goals made—and he did so while wearing a special Nike LeBron 23 pair commemorating his 15,838th career basket.
This isn't the first Player-Exclusive style of LBJ's career, but it's amongst the most special given that it marks a new record in his already-impressive 23rd season. Earlier in the month, the Los Angeles Lakers star laced up a pair inspired by 2012's "Big Bang" LeBron 9. By comparison, the style inspired by his made field-goals dons a purple-and-gold gradient that boasts shades of pink, orange, bronze, and green depending on how the light hits it. The Nike Basketball design is eye-catching on its own, but the set of bold colors further draws attention.
Its most definitive element, however, is the "15,838*" embroidered onto the heel of each shoe.
James overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record with a fadeaway jumpshot over Zeke Nnaji of the Denver Nuggets.
It's unsure whether or not the commemorative LeBron 23 will see a public launch at some point, but, as will be the case with a "Stewie" LeBron 23, the P.E. could eventually make its way to stores.
