Hate him or love him, LeBron James has been a force to be reckoned with since he joined the NBA in 2003. Throughout the last 23 years, the Ohio-native has accomplished a lot on and off-court, leaving a legacy that's given the world a lot to chew on—for better or worse.
Nike Basketball continues to recall key moments in the life of "King James" through the LeBron 23 silhouette. The model's "Good Intentions" ensemble remembers July 8, 2010: the day on which the Cleveland Cavalier announced he was leaving his hometown team to join the Miami Heat.
Billed as The Decision, the long-anticipated announcement was met with varied emotions depending on who you were. Those in Cleveland were greatly moved, saddened by their fellow Ohioan's choice for life in South Florida; some even burned their number 23 Cavs jerseys.
As suggested by the newly-surfaced LeBron 23's moniker, however, James had "good intentions" in everything surrounding The Decision. Regardless of if you believe this or not, James' time with the Heat finally got him an NBA title. It also ushered in his use of the number 6, which is featured on both the "Good Intentions" shoe and matching apparel.
Enjoy product shots of the LeBron 23 ahead. Pairs for Men and Big Kids are slated to hit Nike.com on Tuesday, March 3.
