Virgil Abloh Archive x Nike Air Force 1 "Orange" Could Be on the Way

Virgil Abloh Archive™ continues to work with NIKE, Inc. to celebrate and expand on the creative legacy of its namesake founder. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took NBA Media Day 2026 as an opportunity to preview an orange Air Force 1 that could tease what's next from the partnership between Virgil Abloh's Estate and the Swoosh.

Those informed enough on all things Abloh would've certainly remembered that a similar style was on display during the Virgil Abloh: The Codes exhibits that've been on display in the U.S. and Paris. SGA's choice in footwear, however, leaves no doubt that Abloh's citrus-informed AF-1 no longer lives under the Off-White™ banner, but instead as part of the re-established Virgil Abloh Archive™ (V.A.A.™) collaboration with NIKE, Inc.

As of writing, it's unclear what plans (of any) are being prepared for the launch of the orange V.A.A.™ x Air Force 1; similar tonal offerings from the Virgil Abloh universe were previously launched through intentional, limited channels in partnership with museums hosting his retrospectives or other special projects—including the Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA).
