Nike's Retro Runner Pack for Women Reminds Us of Cosmo & Wanda

Nike Sportswear has been breathing new life into performance footwear for ages. As summer begins to wind down, the lifestyle-focused team has reimagined the popular Vomero 5 and P-6000 sneakers in color schemes that evoke images of Cosmo and Wanda from The Fairly OddParents.

While far from an official collaboration with the famed creators Nickelodeon by Butch Hartman, the overall design and launch schedule of the Women-exclusive retro runners make the connection to Timmy Turner's companions sensical. The more-expensive Nike Vomero 5 indulges in a "Sail/Barely Green/Pink Rise/Cucumber Calm" color palette, while the budget-friendlier P-6000 opts for a "Sail/Pink Foam/Fierce Green/Pink Rise" makeover. Alone, these ensembles are simply vibrant takes appropriate for summer, but closer inspection—and the fact that both are releasing around the same time—disproves coincidence.

Both Women's lifestyle shoes favor heavily-tonal green or pink looks, but their insoles feature a different color than what's visible across the upper and sole unit. In raising eyebrows even more, insoles on the Vomero 5 favor a "Pink Rise" finish, while the Nike P-6000 sees a "Fierce Green" update. This design decision links the retro designs, all while giving credence to the possible Cosmo-Wanda inspiration.

Official product photos of both trendy Women's sneakers also reveal that each pair includes an extra set of laces and shoe-shaped charm done in the colors of the opposite sneaker. Interesting enough, the P-6000 arrives with a Vomero 5-shaped charm in green, while the "Barely Green" Vomero 5 includes a pink Vomero-5 charm. Maybe Nike's original plan was for a proper Vomero 5 pack?
