Fresh off a win against the Chunichi Dragons, the Nippon Professional Baseball's Yomiuri Giants will soon have a Nike Air Max 90 collaboration to celebrate.
A product description for the sneaker acquired by House of Heatº and Elden Monitors confirms the link between the multi-colored Air Max and Tokyo-based team. The pair is officially clad in a "Black/White/Iron Grey/Bright Ceramic" color scheme that closely references the Giants' uniform, which was inspired by the former New York (now San Francisco) Giants in the National League.
A TYO abbreviation for the team's base city replaces traditional branding on the spine (and tongue). A baseball gear-inspired stitching pattern also appears underneath the reworked logo. The bulk of the Air Max 90's upper forgoes its running-informed blueprint in favor of a luxurious leather and nubuck update across the forefoot, along the profiles and around the heel. Ribbed panels on both sides of the heel opt for a shimmering finish that likely draws inspiration from one of the 22 Japan Series titles the Giants (巨人) have won since 1950.
Underfoot, the color story stays on-theme, with visible Nike Air and its cassette indulging in bold "Bright Ceramic" flair. The waffle-inspired outsole references all of the aforementioned colors.
