Yuto Horigome’s Nike SB Air Force 1 Low Gets a “University Red” Follow-Up

Yuto Horigome’s Nike SB Air Force 1 Low rollout is already growing.

Following early looks at the not-yet-released “Iron Grey” pair, a second colorway has now surfaced, this time bringing a cleaner “University Red” finish to the SB-backed Air Force 1 Low. The pair is currently expected to release in Summer 2027, extending Horigome’s Nike SB partnership beyond the Dunk and further into one of Nike’s most recognizable heritage silhouettes.

Seen tucked beneath the upcoming Supreme x Martine Rose x Nike SB Dunk Low, the new pair keeps things simple. A light upper appears across the base, paired with a bright red Swoosh and matching red collar lining. A slightly aged midsole and grey outsole continue the vintage-leaning direction seen on the “Iron Grey” pair, while Horigome’s feather-style logo appears near the lateral heel as the key signature detail.

That restraint has become a clear part of Horigome’s Nike SB language. Rather than overloading the model with graphics or loud storytelling, the Olympic gold medalist’s footwear projects tend to lean on balance, clean blocking, and small personal markers. On the Air Force 1 Low, that approach feels especially natural, letting the familiar shape do most of the work.

The release also adds more weight to Nike SB’s renewed interest in the Air Force 1. While the Dunk remains the category’s centerpiece, the AF1 gives Nike SB another historic model to explore, especially through athlete-driven projects like Horigome’s.
