The Portland Fire introduced its new mascot, Rose, during Sunday night’s home game at the Moda Center.
The pink dragon takes inspiration from Portland’s Rose City identity, with rose-shaped scales, a floral crown, glitter details, and a light-up tail. The team also worked with the Pantone Color Institute to develop the Rose Pink shade used throughout her design.
Rose’s debut followed a week of teasers around Portland, including scorch marks and trails of pink glitter that eventually led back to the Moda Center. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry also participated in the rollout by helping investigate the mysterious signs appearing around the city.
Inside the arena, fans can visit a dedicated Rose lair featuring vintage Portland Fire memorabilia and other details connected to the city and team.
Rose will now appear at future Fire home games, with the mascot also expected to regularly sport Nike footwear.
