Since retiring form the NBA more than 10 years ago, Allen Iverson has been busy with personal matters, community endeavors, and Vice Presidential duties for Reebok Basketball. To unwind (and indulge his competitive appetite), the Virginia-native has picked up the game of golf. Ahead of the Masters in Augusta, Ga., A.I. and company have reimagined his iconic Question signature model as a low-top golf shoe.
Unveiled to the world by professional golfer Matt Kang, the Reebok Question Low Golf shoe brings Iverson's hardwood legacy to the green. An initial look at the pair showcases some of the model's most emblematic details–including the leather 'Red Toe', branded ghillie lacing, and Q logo on the spine.
Some netizens have already taken to social media to express their opinions of the shoe. While many folks are fans of Iverson's first signature sneaker in any form, others have dismissed the golf update as 'unnecessary', likening it to bowling footwear'. The criticism arrives because of the modification's tooling. Reebok's foray into golf keeps things simple on the cushioning and traction front, mimicking hard-bottom golf shoes of the 1970s. A semi-translucent, icy blue spikeless outsole brings further personality to all 18 holes.
Reebok Golf is set to release a number of heritage-inspired footwear items for the green throughout spring. Iverson's spikeless Question Low will arrive to Reebok.com in both 'Red Toe' and 'Black Toe' styles on Tuesday, March 25. Each pair is priced at $180.
