When Ronnie Fieg locks into a silhouette, it’s rarely a one-and-done affair. Following last year’s Kithmas debut of the XT-4-based XT-4K, it looks like Kith and Salomon are circling back with another statement-making take on the trail icon — this time arriving in two distinct executions.

The first pair, shown here in black, continues the bold visual direction established by the XT-4K. Oversized “Kith” branding dominates the lateral side, cutting across Salomon’s technical upper in a way that’s intentionally graphic. It’s a familiar move within Fieg’s design language, where functional footwear is treated as a canvas rather than something to be minimally branded.

Alongside it, a second colorway has been teased in white, featuring a shroud-wrapped construction. While only early imagery has surfaced, the added shroud suggests a more conceptual approach—shifting the XT-4 further into lifestyle territory while remaining rooted in performance design. The model—officially named XT-VYGR 2—takes direct inspiration from the Salomon Adventure 7 Boot from 1994. The contrast between the exposed, logo-forward black pair and the cleaner, wrapped white version gives the project a wider range without changing the underlying silhouette.

Underneath the collaboration details, the XT-4 remains unchanged. Built for long-distance trail use, it features a lightweight mesh upper reinforced with durable overlays, Salomon’s Agile Chassis System for stability, and a Contagrip outsole designed for varied terrain. That technical foundation is a key reason the model continues to crossover into everyday wear, especially as trail runners maintain their place in the broader footwear market.

From a market standpoint, releasing two distinct interpretations of the same collaboration feels deliberate. One leans into visibility and branding, the other into form and construction — a strategy that broadens appeal without diluting identity. It also reinforces how central the XT-4 has become to Kith’s ongoing footwear narrative.

Release details for the next Kith x Salomon collection has been confirmed for Friday, Feb. 6. Items launch alongside the Kith Spring 2026 range via Kith shops, Kith.com, and the Kith App.
