OG Anunoby might not have been selected as the 2026 NBA Finals MVP, but his role in helping the New York Knicks end its 53-year title drought cannot be understated—and he did it while wearing Skechers Basketball footwear.
The North American expert in comfort celebrated the 28-year-old throughout NY's Playoffs run, lacing Anunoby up in special edition pairs of the Skechers SKX Reign and SKX Nexus along the way. The brand, however, is ready to give the London-born player his own sneaker, as confirmed by Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, in a press release celebrating Anunoby as the first athlete to win an NBA Championship in Skechers: "It’s too early to share specific details, but we do have a signature shoe in the works."
Although Anunoby's debut signature model has yet to be seen, Skechers Basketball unveiled his "OG" logo on an "NYC Blue” Player-Exclusive SKX Nexus, which Anunoby wore during his iconic 33-point Game 4 performance and championship-clinching Game 5. The brand, then, is committed to fully cementing itself within the world of performance, as it's done in football with England's Harry Kane.
Stay tuned for firm design and launch details for Anunoby's first shoe, which could appear by the beginning of the 2026-27 NBA season.
