Care Bears and adidas Link Up for a Multi-Pair Footwear Collection

The Care Bears are heading to adidas with a colorful new footwear collection that mixes plush nostalgia, classic Three Stripes silhouettes, and a few kid-friendly surprises.

Set to release globally on July 1, the Care Bears x adidas collection is led by a duo of adidas Adistar Control 5 colorways, arriving in soft pink and blue palettes that lean fully into the world of the beloved cartoon franchise. Both pairs feature pastel uppers, metallic silver Three Stripes, and playful Care Bears details throughout, including cloud and sunshine tongue badges, embroidered character patches on the forefoot, and soft textile finishes that give the chunky runner a more whimsical feel.

The blue pair arrives in a “Clear Sky” style finish, pairing pale blue overlays with white accents and yellow Care Bears patches across the toe. The pink pair follows a similar setup, swapping in soft rose tones with the same plush-inspired detailing. Both pairs also come housed in special Care Bears-themed packaging, complete with all-over character-print tissue paper and co-branded presentation that feels much more considered than a standard collaboration box.

Alongside the Adistar Control 5s, adidas is also bringing the Care Bears treatment to the Samba, which will arrive as part of the kids’ lineup. The pair keeps things cleaner with a white leather base, light grey suede overlays, a gum sole, and fuzzy lavender Three Stripes. Care Bears branding appears on the tongue and sidewall, while embroidered heart lollipop graphics land at the heel. Inside, the sockliner features an all-over print filled with bear faces, rainbows, clovers, moons, hearts, and co-branded adidas details.

The collection will also include a slew of kids-exclusive designs, expanding the project beyond just adult sizing and giving the pack a more playful, family-focused feel. While the Adistar Control 5 carries the main energy of the release, the additional kids' pairs help round out the collection with more accessible, character-driven options.

It is a fitting match for both brands. Care Bears brings nostalgia, color, and softness, while adidas uses the project to dress a mix of lifestyle and retro-running silhouettes in a more lighthearted way than its usual collaborative lane.
