Arne Slot's Liverpool F.C. struggled throughout the 2025-26 Premier League season, but that isn't stopping the squad to celebrate its decorated past. adidas has unveiled the club's 26/27 Home kit ahead of Matchday 38 of the 25/26 Premier League season, remembering the red side's 1989-91 stretch.
Presented via a "GREATNESS IS TIMELESS" campaign, Liverpool's 26/27 Home jersey pays homage to one of the club's most-iconic eras, reinterpreting heritage for the modern game. Diehard fans of the Merseyside-based institution will instantly recognize the geometric patterns found on the new Home shirt, though a Standard Chartered sponsorship replaces the legendary Candy one from over 35 years ago.
The 26/27 Home design builds on the nostalgia-driven kit produced by the Three Stripes for the 25/26 campaign, celebrating a rich history between kit manufacturer and football club. Next season's proposal further showcases how present adidas has been during some of Liverpool's most-defining periods, specifically remembering when Kenny Dalglish’s side secured the 89/90 league title.

The jersey bridges past and present, fusing memorable club DNA with modern performance innovation. CLIMACOOL+ technology ensures players like Florian Wirtz, Virgil van Dijk, Denise O'Sullivan, and Hugo Ekitike stay dry across all stages of the game.
One detail that might be overlooked by the retro-inspired graphics throughout the shirt is the number 97 on the back collar. The number is placed in-between two "Eternal Flames" that together commemorate the 97 victims of the Hillsborough disaster that occurred in '89 during the FA Cup Semi-Final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, England.
By comparison, the Liverpool 26/27 Away jersey sees a "White/Strawberry Red" color scheme that references the club's Away kits from 1985-88.

The mid-to-late-1980s are remembered fondly by Liverpool fans of a certain age as the time period defined much of the organization on-and-off-the-pitch. The new Away shirt's base is a clean white that allows for "Strawberry Red" accents to pop that much more. adidas Trefoil logos bring a vintage touch to the design, which features a striped V-neck collar. Stripes also appear around the sleeve cuffs. Elsewhere, the Liver Bird crest is positioned on the chest's left side.
A pattern inspired by Anfield match tickets is engineered right into the jersey's fabric. The subtle detail creates texture and depth on Liverpool's 26/27 Visitor's kit while also paying tribute to the countless supporters who've passed through the turnstiles at Anfield.
