Willy Chavarria and adidas Originals are celebrating Mexico's football heritage in time for the 2026 World Cup™ tournament. Previewed during the New York City-based designer's Autumn/Winter 2026 showcase for Paris Fashion Week®, the "Comienza Con El Sueño" collection sees performance gear reimagined through the creative's street-ready lens—all for the Selección Nacional de México (Mexico national football team).
Chavarria's latest project with the Three Stripes is all about reminding people that dreams begin long before they're fulfilled on stages like the World Cup™. Within music and other creative industries, there's a negative connotation to the "overnight success" categorization, and the "Comienza Con El Sueño" product capsule and campaign showcase that work oftentimes begins since before someone is conscious, informed by family upbringing, socioeconomic status, and exposure.
Within the context of the Mexico and its national football team, dreams of success have been present well before the country was selected to host football's biggest tournament for the third time, before young athletes were called up by coaches to represent "La Selección."
Mexico lifting up the World Cup™ trophy at any point in history is one gargantuan dream, but millions of folks continue to have it. Those players who suit up on-the-pitch have high expectations placed on them, and it's their duty and honor to arrive to the occasion prepared. But, it all starts by dreaming.

Chavarria's partnership with adidas grants him access to Mexico's football governing body: the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF). As such, the Mexican-Irish-American designer is able to present fashion-forward apparel, footwear, and accessories directly referencing the Mexico national football team.
For the "Comienza Con El Sueño" collaboration, Willy Chavarria has reimagined Mexico's 1986 Home jersey, patriotic tracksuits, and other clothing styles. Additionally, the range includes pieces (e.g. blazer, long twill short, button-up shirt) appropriate for a (fashionable) coach, fan-ready football and merch tees, crewnecks, a scarf, and caps.
Away from apparel, three different sneaker options all done in the designer's signature bold aesthetic join the Mexico-inspired lineup: Willy Mega Low, Megaride AG XL, and Willy Chavarria Megaride Copa. The trio marries adidas Football legacy with retro running technology from the Three Stripes. When combined with Chavarria's signature touches, the sneakers live at the intersection of performance, style, and culture.

Although fans of Willy Chavarria, adidas, and the Mexico national football team are sure to enjoy the "Comienza Con El Sueño" collaboration due to its bold aesthetic, high craftsmanship, and national elements, one piece that may end up stealing the show is the colorful goalkeeper kit reminiscent of the designs worn by Jorge Campos during the late 1980s and '90s. Pre-colonial grecas don the vibrantly-colored oversized jersey and shorts in Chavarria's capsule, with numerous references to Mexico, the collection, and the number "9," an important jersey number in Mexican football history (famously worn by Hugo Sanchez, Campos, Jared Borgetti, and Raúl Jiménez).
Tying everything together, the "Comienza Con El Sueño" campaign features rising talent from the Selección Nacional de México—including Jesús Gilberto Orozco, Jeremy Márquez, and Omar Campos.
