As Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder continue their playoff run, Converse has teased another new iteration of the Converse SHAI 001.
Shared through a cryptic “Scaling Up” visual, the teaser features close-up snakeskin textures alongside Shai’s signature logo and Converse branding, suggesting a reptile-inspired take on the Converse SHAI 001 could be on the way. The preview follows closely behind the unveiling of the upcoming “Steel” colorway, which is expected to release soon.
Though the sneaker itself has not yet been fully revealed, the teaser aligns with the broader design direction of the Converse SHAI 001 so far. Since debuting the silhouette during NBA All-Star Weekend last year, Converse and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have steadily expanded the line with tonal neutrals, camouflage finishes, suede constructions, and other lifestyle-focused executions.
The timing also arrives as the Converse SHAI 001 continues gaining visibility on court, with Gilgeous-Alexander still wearing the model throughout another MVP postseason run.
At this stage, Converse has not confirmed whether the teased snakeskin-inspired Converse SHAI 001 will release publicly, though the brand appears to be continuing its steady rollout of new styles as the playoffs continue.
