Is It Time for the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux” to Return?

As Jordan Brand continues to revisit its archive, one release that keeps coming back into the conversation is the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux”. With 2027 marking the model’s 35th anniversary, the timing feels aligned for a return.

Originally released in 1992, the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux” stood apart from any other pair. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the silhouette removed visible Air units and Nike branding altogether, leaning into a more unique look. The Bordeaux colorway pushed things further, pairing a mostly black nubuck upper with geometric, multicolor accents on the tongue and midsole.

Its legacy is tied closely to Michael Jordan. The pair was worn during the 1992 All-Star Game and later appeared in the "Jam" music video alongside Michael Jackson, cementing its place in both basketball and pop culture.

Despite that history, the Bordeaux hasn’t seen frequent retros. Its last return came in 2015, making it one of the more underutilized OG colorways in Jordan Brand’s rotation.

That could be changing. With the Air Jordan 7 “Miro” set to return this year and the Air Jordan 7 “Raptors” coming back in 2027, Jordan Brand is clearly placing renewed focus on the model. With that momentum building, it only feels right that the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux” follows in 2027 to complete the run.

With anniversaries often guiding Jordan Brand’s release calendar, all signs point toward 2027 being the right moment. If the current trajectory continues, the return of the Air Jordan 7 “Bordeaux” feels less like a question and more like a matter of timing.

While we wait for any information regarding a possible return, make sure to checkout the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Royal" which will be returning in October, 2026.
