BEAMS Brings a Dual-Take Design to the New Balance 1000
After a breakout year in 2024, the New Balance 1000 continues its hot streak into 2025 with yet another high-profile collaboration—this time with Japanese streetwear staple BEAMS. Set to debut in April, the BEAMS x New Balance 1000 delivers a moody, all-black colorway with a unique twist: mismatched materials across each shoe.
The left shoe is constructed with a mesh base and suede overlays, offering a traditional mix of performance and texture. In contrast, the right shoe is bolder, built with glossy patent and standard leather. The asymmetry speaks to the 1000s’ flexible design language and its growing popularity among fashion-forward audiences.
Both pairs are finished with black and white New Balance logos on the lateral sides, while reflective rope laces add contrast and depth. It’s a minimalist yet experimental execution that reflects BEAMS’ signature blend of streetwear functionality and elevated design.
The BEAMS x New Balance 1000 will first release at the brand’s Los Angeles pop-up (620 Imperial Street) on April 10. A wider release via BEAMS and New Balance online channels is expected later this month.
