The New Balance 1000 continues to expand its roster of styles, recently surfacing in an understated "Castlerock" makeup.

A product of the late 1990s, the retro design was introduced to market as a futuristic runner able to hand some off-road mileage. Throughout the next two decades, the silhouette largely fell victim to time, but folks like Joe Freshgoods and Teddy Santis helped reintroduce the sneaker to market with coveted collaborations.

The model's current relevance, however, has been sustained via a plethora of versatile, inline color schemes. The latest "Castlerock" pair couples greyscale panels across the top-half with a tried-and-proven sole unit in "Black." The result is a fall-friendly style that can be worn year-round.

Enjoy detailed products shots of the "Castlerock" NB 1000 below—courtesy of European retailer AFEW. Pars have already begun popping up overseas, with a stateside NewBalance.com launch likely taking place by the end of summer. The shoe is priced at $100. Please note that AFEW's photography depicts the suede mudguard darker than the Boston-based brand's own shots.
