This Molded New Balance P400 Low Duo Is Ready for the Court & Runway
New Balance Basketball continues to make strides in the sport, signing exciting talent and developing product that performs at the highest level of the game. The relatively recent P400 Low, a reworked version of the high-top sneaker co-signed by the WNBA's Cameron Brink, is one of the offerings leading the charge. Recently, the shoe emerged in two new colorways that feature molded, scale-covered uppers.
At quick glance, it's difficult to not think about the Nike Foamposite family of products due to the P400 duo's molded, tonal uppers. New Balance's pairs, however, are less bulky and flirt with a high-fashion aesthetic thanks to the textured finish seen from forefoot to heel. The single-piece base isn't laden with reptile scales in the same way the Gator Air Max Goadome Low is, but close inspection of the latest P400 Lows reveal irregularly-shaped impressions that appear like the thin plates protecting reptiles.
The molded upper appears in "Fast Track" and "Sport Green" across the new capsule. These colors deviate from the retro tones typically associated with New Balance footwear. Sole units, inner lining, collars, and tongues opt for a pitch "Black" makeover that allows brownish and green molded builds to pop.
The P400 Low is priced at $120 and is now available via NewBalance.com.
