Every Upcoming Nike Kobe Protro Release from June 2026 through Spring 2027

Nike Basketball’s Kobe Protro line is entering one of its busiest stretches in years, with a full run of releases expected across 2026 and into early 2027. While Kobe Bryant’s legacy has continued through apparel, storytelling, Nike Air Force 1 Low projects, Nike Dunk Low collaborations, and other lifestyle-driven Kobe shoes, the Protro line remains the main event for collectors and hoopers alike. These are the basketball shoes tied most directly to his playing career, rebuilt with modern tooling, refined materials, and the kind of detail that keeps the Mamba line at the center of Nike Basketball.

The calendar begins on June 26 with the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Draft Day” pack, one of the most unusual Kobe Bryant releases of the year. Built around the 1996 NBA Draft, the mystery-style project includes 14 pairs in total, with 13 colorways representing the teams that passed on Kobe Bryant before his eventual move to Los Angeles. A final Lakers-themed pair rounds out the concept in purple and gold. Most pairs arrive with white wear-away uppers that reveal team-inspired colors underneath, giving the release a storytelling angle that goes beyond a standard retro drop.

The Nike Kobe 3 Protro Low “Atomic Pink” follows on July 1, bringing one of Kobe’s more experimental early models back in a bright, modern execution. The Kobe 3 has always been one of the most divisive models in the line, largely because of its grid-like upper and technical build, but the low-cut Protro treatment gives it a sharper feel for today’s market. The fully saturated pink colorway makes it one of the boldest Kobe shoes on the upcoming slate.

On August 1, the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “NY vs. NY” is expected to release, having built momentum through Jalen Brunson’s on-court wear. The pair features a mint-green base with orange, blue, and splatter-style accents, tying it to New York’s summer basketball scene. Brunson has become one of the most visible current names in the Kobe rotation, and this release continues the growing link between his player exclusives and retail drops.

One week later, on August 8, the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Mambacurial” returns. Originally released in 2013, the football-inspired colorway remains one of the most memorable Kobe Bryant designs of its era. The Red Plum, Electric Green, and Pink Flash palette, oversized lateral branding, and Mercurial-style influence all return, making it a major drop for both Kobe collectors and fans of Nike’s football crossover storytelling - a perfect culmination to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Dodgers” is currently listed for September 8. Dressed in Rush Blue, Wolf Grey, and Comet Red, the pair honors Kobe’s deep connection to Los Angeles and his final public visit to Dodger Stadium. Baseball-style stitching and Dodgers-inspired colors give the shoe a local feel without moving too far away from the Kobe 5’s performance roots. It is also expected to arrive alongside matching apparel and accessories.

Summer 2026 will also bring the Caitlin Clark x Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Bella,” a personal release inspired by Clark’s Golden Retriever. The pair mixes Twine, Light Cream, Baroque Brown, and Pueblo Red across the Kobe 6’s textured upper, while custom insole artwork ties the design directly to Bella. Clark’s arrival in the WNBA has brought a new level of visibility to women’s basketball shoes, and her connection to the Kobe line feels especially fitting. Kobe Bryant was a major supporter of the WNBA and women’s basketball, often using his platform to advance the league while also raising the next generation through his own “girl dad” lens.

The next major run comes in November. On November 11, the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Shanghai Fireworks” is expected to return, reviving the Laser Orange, Cinnabar, and Safety Orange colorway tied to Kobe’s long-running connection with China. Then, on November 21, the Nike Kobe A.D. Protro “Ruthless Precision” is expected back in Cool Grey, White, and Black. As one of the earliest post-retirement Kobe models, the A.D. helped carry the line into its next phase after Bryant stepped away from the NBA, and its Protro return gives Nike Basketball another opportunity to revisit that transition period.

Fall 2026 also includes the Nike Kobe A.D. Protro “Purple Stardust,” a soft purple colorway expected to return later in the season, as well as the FC Barcelona x Nike Kobe 3 Protro Low. The Barça pair continues the football connection that has long run through Bryant’s story, with a reported Black, Metallic Gold, and Electro Purple palette tied to the Spanish club.

Also expected in Fall 2026 is the Nike Kobe 3 Protro “Orca,” a black/white colorway originally released in 2008. The return keeps the model’s original contrast-heavy look intact while adding Canyon Gold and Varsity Purple accents throughout the build. It remains one of the most recognizable Kobe 3 colorways from the original run and gives the silhouette another strong entry after the “Atomic Pink” release earlier in the year.

On December 11, the Jalen Brunson x Nike Kobe 3 Protro Low “Arancia” is expected to arrive in Total Orange and Blue Void. Brunson’s Kobe PE run has become one of the most consistent in the NBA, and this pair adds another retail-minded release to that growing story.

Holiday 2026 is currently expected to close with three more Kobe Protro drops. The Nike Kobe X Protro “5 AM Flight” brings back the Blue Lagoon and Black colorway tied to Kobe Bryant’s early-morning training habits. The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Coals” introduces a new Black, Venom Green, and Purple Venom scheme. The Nike Kobe 9 Low EM Protro “Philippines” also returns, reviving the Laser Crimson, Silver, and Obsidian colorway connected to one of Kobe’s strongest international fan bases.

Looking further ahead, Spring 2027 is already taking shape. The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “All-Star” is expected to return, bringing back the red-based colorway worn by Bryant during the 2009 NBA All-Star Game, where he shared Co-MVP honors with Shaquille O’Neal. The Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Easter” is also expected in Spring 2027, reviving the favorite pastel gradient from 2013.

Beyond the listed slate, the annual Mambacita and Halo drops are also expected to be added to the 2027 lineup once more details become available.
