Chun-Li, Ryu & Ken Get PUMA Sneakers in Time for Street Fighter Movie

The PUMA Suede originally launched in 1968, but it's having a moment. In addition to landing in a handful of elevated, inline styles, the classic low-top basketball shoe is celebrating its 58th anniversary with handfuls of collaborations—including a Street Fighter Collection.

A newly-surfaced trio of Suede sneakers draw inspiration from the Capcom franchise's Chun-Li, Ryu, and Ken characters. All three fictional fighters are at the center of Paramount Pictures' live-action Street Fighter film scheduled for a global premiere on Friday, Oct. 16.

The Street Fighter universe previously took sneaker-form thanks to adidas and Reebok collaborations; PUMA's project, then, marks a new chapter for the arcade video game from 1987.

Each pair of PUMA Suedes inspired by Capcom's title indulges in elevated materials and carefully-considered designs to recreate three important Street Fighters. Chun-Li's shoe gets a premium leather makeover complete with metallic silver studs and shimmering golden accents. Pairs for Ken Masters and Ryu feature red-and-white and white-and-red ensembles that capture the longtime friends' individual aesthetics.

A callout to the "World Warrior Tournament"—introduced via Street Fighter II and central to director Kitao Sakurai's Fall 2026 film—arrives in the form of a white-and-black hangtag. Ryu and Ken's Suedes feature graphics of the Hadouken and Shoryuken, respectively. All three upcoming PUMA shoes see Chun-Li, Ryu, and Ken's names printed on the bottom.

Keep an eye on PUMA.com for a proper release of the Street Fighter-inspired PUMA collaboration. The collection is currently expected to release on September 12 via Champs Sports and select retailers.
