When Bruce Kilgore was tasked with designing what would become the AF-1, he had a straightforward, but challenging job: use Nike Air technology in a robust, modern Nike Basketball shoe. Over the last 44 years, the Air Force 1 has lived many lives—including high-fashion collaborative muse (i.e. Riccardo Tisci, Virgil Abloh/Off-White™, Louis Vuitton) and platform for new tech (i.e. Flyknit, Nike SB).
