Before he played a single NBA game, Allen Iverson was a star—it's why Reebok bet big on the Virginia-native ahead of the 1996 NBA Draft, going as far as designing a signature sneaker for him as part of their courting.
The shoe was the iconic Reebok Question Mid, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
To celebrate the occasion, the heritage brand has put together a number of different initiatives—perhaps most notably the 3D-printed version Question 96/26 with Zellerfeld's help.
Today, the brand is unveiling another project that honors 30 years of Iverson's debut shoe being iconic: the Reebok Question Mid Recoded.

The Reebok Basketball relic maintains its beloved DNA—ghillie lacing, toe overlay, midsole windows—but is re-engineered for comfort and performance. Now, that's not to say that the brand wants its sponsored athletes to wear the Question Mid Recoded over modern-day designs like the Angel Reese 1, but A.I.'s 30-year-old sneaker can keep up on today's courts thanks to Recoded's updates.
Key changes made to the Question Mid for its 30th anniversary include:
- Reimagined Outsole Traction Pattern: Original tread design redeveloped for modern play
- Super Critical Foam Pod: Lightweight, modernized cushioning for enhanced impact absorption & comfort
- Premium Leather Upper: Elevated materials are reshaped for a more forgiving fit
- Midsole Stability Plate: Delivers reliable torsional support on the court
The Question Mid Recoded launches in two colorways: OG "Red Toe" and new "30th Anniversary Green."

Enjoy detailed shots of the 30th anniversary-celebrating Question Mid Recoded ahead. The update first releases through Reebok.com and Foot Locker on Tuesday, Nov. 10, for $170. A wider, global launch takes place on Monday, Nov. 16.
Reebok and Foot Locker will celebrate Iverson's beloved first shoe with an
immersive experience in Philadelphia, honoring the 76ers legend's impact on basketball, style, and culture-at-large. The pop-up will be open at the BOK Building (1901 S 9th St) from 2–7 p.m.
